I am an evolutionary ecologist interested in the causes and consequences of adaptive variation in natural populations. I use a multidisciplinary approach, linking concepts from ecology, animal behavior, molecular biology, and evolutionary biology. Thus, my research is broad in perspective and methodology, using a combination of field, laboratory and statistical approaches. My work has mostly focused on freshwater fishes, but I have also done research on other vertebrates.
